They were probably from zips that you unzipped directly into the content directory you were using (My Library or My Daz 3d Library). It's perhaps not entirely fair to say the creators are doing it wrong, but you do need to be aware that if the zip has a placeholder for the content directory you don't want to keep that when you install the files.
