I'm always undocking/closing panes by an accidental mis-click. Re-docking them involves dragging it over another pane in the place you want (I have my scene and content panes docked to the left, so if I undock one, I drag it over the other), or dragging it to the correct line at the top (like when I undock my viewport - but that's more fiddly and harder to explain) (Edit: unless you use a screenshot like Razor42 above ;) ) (Edit 2: Though you don't need to hit the dark bar, you can drag it full over another pane too)
