The top image has a strong reflection on the tear line mat zone. It looks like the 2nd image has it invisible.
The grain is from too low quality of render settings. There isn't any one setting that works well for all scenes. Low lighting is one factor that affects it. There are others. These are my usual final render settings. They work for most things, though sometimes if the hair I'm using is high quality and has many layers I'll need to increase the max transparency. If you can use GPU rendering, these won't work.
If that is grainy, I'll use these. Most times it's only a small portion of the image is grainy, I'll just do an area render with these.

Quick fix for eyes (for DAZ gen. 4 figures) is Ghostship eyes REV2 (at ShareCG) user name there is bpmorton777. Best fix is snarlygribbly's EZskin3 (google his site for latest version). It is a python plug-in for Poser and free (they both are) and I use it every day!

Yes, I even use Ghostship's eye goodies with Dawn, even tough he created them for V4, as it's easy enough to make whatever changes need to be done. I think there's only one matzone V4 has that Dawn doesn't.

Firefly in Poser 11 uses Gamma Correction where as it use to be a Pro only feature. Go into render settings and change the 2.2 to 1.0 if you don't want to correct the materials in the shader. Otherwise find the image map and change from Use Gamma value from Render Settings TO Custom Gamma value GC and change the value from 2.2 to 1.0. Before Poser 11 the non-Pro version did not have Gamma correction and when it was added a lot of image maps which were use to a value of 1.0 were all a sudden using 2.2. Mostly it works good for actual images, but messes with the transparency and changed the look.

I keep forgetting about GC despite BBs numerous posts on the subject. The GC=1 setting applies anywhere the output value of a node is expected to be linear so bump, displacement and other masks (+ normal maps?) in addition to transparency. Texture maps for the roughness and metalness parameters in the physical root node also need to have GC set to 1 if you decide to use it.

As mentioned in a previous thread, the "double eyelid" is caused by the Tear material. Make it invisible, because it's shite. :D

Aye, no problem. Use Snarly's EZSkin and follow the instructions. Set the materials to the appropriate options in the list, if the figure's not supported, then save. You'll have a correct and appropriate bunch of settings for the next time you use the figure, regardless of the texture you use.
You will, of course, have to use your own judgement over some materials, particularly if they're named something stupid like Lambert_297 or whatnot but a bit of trial and error is a wonderful teacher.

I was doing some test renders with Superfly and Firefly and I've been having problems with my models rendering with hazy eyes. One texture gives the look of having a 2nd clear eyelid. I assume that this is some sort of materials issue, but it's annoying I never had this problem in any other version of Poser. I tried other light sets with similar results. See below.
I also notice that some Superfly renders have grainy or noisy backgrounds. Is this a render setting issue? Any help you could give me with this issue is greatly appreciated.
