It is using your system, but is running the render engine as a separate program that runs in the background. Of course if you have a second pc you can install queue manager on this and then get that machine to do the rendering. (There is due to be an update to poser 11 tomorrow which solves a problem with queue manager separate version having the wrong build number and so not working remotely unless you do a full install of poser 11 on the client machine.)
