The basic Resolve software is still free, but they have a studio version which isn't.The only difference is that the studio version is intended for multi-user collaboration and pipeline management. The free version is basically for individual users. I'd recommend checking out the Openshot for sure. It's really simple to use and has an impressive feature set for a free package. Then later on you could perhaps move up to Davinci or invest in something like Premiere.
