Been there, done that, too... :)
That tells you how to change from absolute to relative files. It does nothing about removing the creation base texture.
The only work around I could find was to use the DAZ base as the originating layer. Not redistribute it, but leave it in as a map call by building the LIE duf on the Genesis 8 texture so there won't be any errors thrown. I had been building them on my characters until I ran into that ugly little issue. And according to the experts at DAZ, I would have to create a script to remove the LIE. It's actually just easier resetting your particular character face.
So how does using geoshells work?
