Wow - that... that really sucks. My condolences, seriously... The heart attack is the most common way to meet one's mortality, yet it is in my opinion the most diabolical way to go; they strike without warning, and are rarely survivable, even with modern medicine.
( Kinda sensitive about cardiac crap these days... I'm toting around a shiny little stent (and not pushing daisies myself) only because in 2016, my own heart had the good sense to vapor-lock less than a mile from the Pacific Northwest's premier cardiac trauma center. Sadly, not everyone has the constant collision of astronomical luck that seems to be the story of my life. )
But, it brings something to mind... a lot of us have been in and around this little hobby for years, if not decades (since 2001 for me, and that's after bumping out of doing meshes, code, and mapping for the gaming industry for a big chunk of the 1990s).
I suspect we'll see a lot more folks leaving this mortal coil as the years roll on, sadly.
We're getting older, folks.
I just hope the CG art community isn't getting older along with it...
