So, just out of curiosity... L'Homme? Any updates on that happening?
Yeah it is happening, just not sure exactly when yet. But yes, it's happening 8-)
Very glad to hear this. La Femme is great and all, but there's not enough males. I need a dude who doesn't look like Dusk (great as he is), and David3WM is showing his age.

Very much agreed. I also use Dusk and D3WM, but if there's a male figure as well made as La Femme, my wallet is open!
the more i look at it, the more i see... wish i was in the mood for texturing- i'd try doing the obvious, and make 'petals' for/out of it...
i saw earlier on in this thread a post by you that led me to believe this outfit was also created for another figure... mind if i ask which figure & where it might be?
many thanks!!!

That outfit was originally for V4! I also tried to port it later to Dawn and MyMichelle, but ended up never finishing them. While it was for V4, there were a couple - maybe 3?- texture packs for it made by other vendors, but as the dress for V4 was removed from the store, the texture packs were as well.
I've enhanced many things from that version - the LaFemme one moves along with her thighs, whereas the V4 one required you to use the skirt handles for that. The LaFemme one still has the handles though - they help with fixing things for some poses, to pose it for seating, etc. Also the materials have been remade, specially for Superfly.
UV maps are still the same though - so if anyone has the texture packs for the V4 version, they'll work!

ta for the info... glad you were able to improve upon the dress, but, for me & my purposes, t'is a shame the dress is no longer around for V4...
much success to you and your pack, Afrodite!! :-)
I still have the files for the V4 version - I could send you the zip in exchange for you gifting me anything I have on my wishlist here :)
But then it'll be the old version, with the old materials etc.

i greatly appreciate the offer, Aphrodite!! extremely thoughtful of you...
at least for now, i'll need to think about it - i went through my 'Dresses' folder, and i ran across a set that is somewhat, sorta, kinda, in a way similar to the designing of your Lolita. i totally forgot i had it [too many clothes, not enough years left to play with it all... sigh] if/when i get a chance to do a render for what i have in mind, and the one i own doesn't work, i may take you up on the deal. just keep in mind that i'm extremely s-l-o-w at rendering out ideas, and according to my little 'idea' notebook, i've at least 43 ideas yet to be realised... That's what happens when you make it easy for the end user!
Created the catsuit and textures, then got a crazy idea and made the mask, overcoat and sai. I added the leg band later. I will be working on getting this packaged up and put on ShareCG. It will be all dynamic.
There will be a few different textures for this outfit.

Wow. That's fantastic. Looks like it will be a very useful package.
I don't know how much of it I will package. Probably everything in the Elektra costume. I have to add a constrained group to the overcoat or it falls off her shoulders in that particular pose. I am going to model a couple other things for it.
I am also going to create a few textures to hide the boot parts and maybe make short sleeves.
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.
Wow. What is this video supposed to be showing or instructing?
Tried to follow the bouncing mouse as the instructor does...what ????. And then the text changes...maybe, since it's in the middle of the video play progress bar, it's hard to tell.
Seriously...narrate (speak). Pause, highlight. Explain, demonstrate positive and negative on given feature, then use Text (not in play bar) to reaffirm. Move to next feature/point.

When a person has five to ten things going on at once, each one as important as the other, but someone needs a question answered quickly to get something done, there is not enough time to narrate, speak, pause, highlight, explain, and demonstrate positive and negative on a given feature.
Such was the reason that was done the way it was.
You're welcome.
Honestly, I think we should keep in mind that these aren't classes we're paying for, made by professional instructors. They're video tutorials we aren't paying for, made by professional creators. They're not "I have studied how to teach and am being paid to teach you", they're "I do stuff and I'll take some of my time to show you how I do it".
Doesn't hurt to be thankful for someone trying to help, even if it perhaps could have been better - though "better" here is relative.
I, for one, think that those technical videos for creating stuff for LaFemme are a godsend - even though I've been making stuff for Poser for years, the time I spent out of Poser came with new stuff I wasn't aware of, and I was here getting frustrated with polygons exploding because I didn't know tricks like "rig in the lowest Subdivision and turn her JCMs off first" or "touch the mesh with the Morph Tool so that Poser will "take" your imported morph before you pose it" or things like converting to Pre-Transform Morph and--
--let's just say my first clothing item for her took me three times as long and I almost gave up several times before I watched those videos.
So, from me, thank you for them.

What I read: " Hi, we are product creators and deeply involved with a new figure that we want you to invest hundreds of dollars and hours in. But, because we are busy, rather than put some thought and effort into the sites LEAD-IN Promotional video when people search for La Femme, that should show them why this figure is the next level of cool, we slapped together this quickie video. They should appreciate that we made the effort at all and just toss us money and buy our products...because you know...They're welcome.
And, because they questioned that, even though we want them to spend hundreds of dollars and hundreds of hours using this new figure and our products, we're going to snark back "You're welcome" rather than look at the video and say "Huh....that really doesn't show what we intended in a good light to the hundreds (Thousands) of potential new customers that need to see how cool and easy this product can be using these new features I flicked through. We (the team) should probably put something together that really shows that so MORE people grab on to it."
Thank you for the clarification...I guess.

Huh. That's a strange reaction.
-La Femme is a tool. You don't buy plumber's pliers expecting it to come with a crash course on plumbing. La Femme hasn't created new tech - she simply uses the new tech that comes with the latest Poser version. Teaching you how to use that tech should be on Poser's creators - and it does so, the manual is pretty good, videos simply help people with a more visual-oriented style of learning like myself.
-Those of us who were around when V4 was released spent thousands on stuff for her, yet Daz3d never tought anything at all about creating stuff for her on Poser, and weren't expected to. Because - again - figures are tools and have no requirement on teaching you how to use them.
-The video you showed is about content CREATION. That's on us vendors to learn how to. La Femme USAGE and showing her features is in her WEBINAR video, which is another one, which isn't in a teaching format but a showcase format, and was recorded live answering to questions.
-If you want people to do things your way, you might want to consider phrasing your request in a more polite/professional manner than what amounts to "your video is bad and you should feel bad". People tend to bite back when they're attacked.

Now, if what you want is to have a nice-looking video trying to gather attention of new potential end-users for La Femme on why they should get her, I agree that it would be good, but being practical:
That would need to be a team effort, something to be planned and arranged. You can't expect a 3d modeller or a character rigger to know how to create, narrate, edit and design a promotional video. I'm all for participating in such a team, but one has to know we'd need someone who's good at explaining didactically, someone who can write a script, someone who can edit videos, someone who can design the video elements, etc.

That video was initially made in response to ONE PERSON'S need for help. It wasn't intended for "mass consumption." Later Renderosity asked if they could put it up because other people were asking the same question. Get it now?
That the video is the one that comes up first when you search for LaFemme videos wasn't this "content creators" decision. I don't know what decides what order they appear in. They might appear "most recent", There are many other videos and webinars about LaFemme on the site as well. Did you find them?

@ La Femme devs: Please do something with her ears, they look horrible. I haven't said anything till now and don't want to sound like an a**hole but they really are bad/not realistic looking.
Yes they could definitely be alot better.
"Dream like you'll live forever. Live like you'll die tomorrow."
ARGH I accidentally deleted my post. Let me try this again ROFLMAO
Toward the end of La Femme development we exposed a Poser bug. What we learned was any change to the base mesh would cause high resolution morphs to spike unpredictably, whether they were developed with the morph tool OR with GoZ. This mainly happened around the group borders but sometimes happened elsewhere as well. So this explains why there are some "fix morphs" that were added toward the end instead of baked into the mesh.
So what this means is at this point, the base mesh is fixed ... and any changes otherwise, whether made by the dev team or someone else, will have to be addressed with morphs. As long as HR morphs are created with the original base shape they are fine.
