New Poser Users Help F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 13 6:59 am)
New to Poser? Ask questions here for expert help!
the choreographed group tells where you want selected vertices. Where ever those vertices are at the last frame of the simulation before you run the simulation, poser will try to keep it there. So that actually could cause more problems. How does the cape start out? Is it sticking up or already sort of draped?

There are a few tutorials here. I can't say I've watched the ones on the cloth room to say if they are any good. Here's the first https://www.renderosity.com/mod/tutorial_premium/?page=info&tutorial=11 It is possible that the cape only looks like it's stretching as the mesh falls into place since the faces relax some. I don't have that outfit to test with that, but I'm getting no stretching with the cloth plane and the settings you posted. Can you post a screenshot of the undraped cape at frame 1 with the cape set at one of the display styles that show the mesh (smooth lined etc.)? Also, what do you have set as constrained, choreographed, etc.?

Ok, I watched the tutorial and followed it as much as possible. However the results are not what I want. Here is the settings I set up.
Cloth room:
bullet physics
No matter what I do, the cloth acts like an elastic cloth. Are there anything I can prevent that? This happens to all cloths, including the clothplane.
Are you combining bullet physics with the cloth room? They are meant to be used separately. Otherwise, I don't know what you're doing wrong.

Ok, the way the cape is bouncing, it looks like you need more frames in between keyframes. Your supergirl is flying and stopping too fast. You might also try adding wind force while she's flying to cause the cape to stay behind her.

@superfan - I'm not sure this will help you, but I just had the same issue with a piece of dynamic clothing I was beta testing, and when I mentioned it to the creator of the piece of clothing, she asked me if I had my character in the same position (mainly height - off the floor) in Frame 1 as she was in Frame 30 (last frame of the sim).
Sure enough that was the issue, because in Frame 30 she's supposedly floating and weightless, as if she were in outer space, but in frame 1 I had her flat on the floor of the landing padding, which was what was causing the issue. The hem was interacting with the floor, and therefore stretching as she lifted into her final position, even though I had the landing pad included in the Collide Against list.
If you have your character on the Construct/Ground, try lifting the character up some and see if that fixes the issue.

Hello,
I'm creating an animation of Superman flying. However the cape stretches every time I calculate the simulation. I attempted to edit the dynamic and choreograped groups but the cape still stretches. This happens with the clothplane as well. Am I missing somethign?
Here is a snapshot of what I mean:
