Which explains why my search pose and material files yielded nothing. I am still lucky. Black is the color I wanted to change the hair too and I was fortunate to have all of your help as well. Next, I went into the material room to see if could indeed be done manually. Last night I failed when I tried to change it, but in the advanced tab for specular, changing the top and the hair in the diffuse channel also yielded success. I'll have to make my own materials if I wish to use this later (I do have a green haired character plus at work it seems to be a common practice for BOTH sexes to change their hair to nonstandard colors. Both answers were needed as the Black updo is actually a brown (brunette) updo.
