I am not quite understanding why a free upgrade to a program with more options would result in people quitting using Poser. What feature would be so negatively received or offensive? Honestly curious, myself.

i have not seen official word that it is free...what i was referring to is what i quoted, that we had to upgrade to pro or our older stuff would not work any longer. i used standsard as i didnt want to buy pro...still dont, but if thats the only product, what choice is there?

It's free, at least for you. Look at the store. There's upgrades for lower versions of Poser still for sale, but the upgrade from Poser 11 to Pro is gone.
