(I'm currently having the same problem with CCleaner - which I had to install a while back in order to get rid of some other crap. Now CCleaner has become the very type of software I was using IT to get rid of, and others like McAfee have become the same). If I want to upgrade then I'll go to their website and upgrade myself, I don't need a constant reminder and doing so makes me not want to use that software at all. So download at your own risk.
I second that, and they keep reminding me to upgrade - only to subscribe, Adobe style. No thanks!
