Subject: Fitting clothing to La Femme character

Semicharm ( ) posted Wed, 04 December 2019 at 10:28 AM ยท edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 1:09 PM

I'm having problems getting clothing to properly fit a child character I made for La Femme and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice. The character was created using the body scaling, along with the La Femme Pro body and head morphs. The common problem I'm having is with the chest. "Include morphs" and "Include scales" are checked.

This may help: With the outfit selected go to the top menu and click on Figure>Copy Morphs From>LaFemme.

Then a pop up menu will show up to choose which morphs to copy from which body parts..this list sometimes can be very long ...so most of the time I just allow all to be selected then hit OK.

I see you have under properties you have include morphs and scales..this is good and needs to be checked.

I hope this helps some!

You're always going to see this kind of behavior in a small chested figure with clothing made for a busty one.

Once you have copied the morphs to your figure, just open the morph brush, choose your morph and edit the morph in place. Then re-save the clothing and the morph will superconform when your figure is dialed in.

First, turn off SubD. Using the morph brush with SubD in is simply an exercise in frustration:

In the case of chest crushing, I tend to use the flatten brush first because there's a divot in the breast valley. ALWAYS TURN DOWN THE MAGNITUDE FIRST. I never use the morph brush at the default magnitude of 0.500, usually set to 0.1 or 0.3.

Once I get that divot out, I use the smooth brush to smooth out the remaining chest crushing.

Again, choose your morphed figure from the dropdown menu so that you are editing the morph in place for your figure. (in this example, I am using L'Homme)

Most items, at least those bundled with Poser, support the Pro morphs already. And others that don't have them don't transfer very well with that method. I know there's other ways, such as the fitting room, but that requires creating special fits for every single outfit. I wondering if there's anything else I could do to improve how the clothing fits.

Thanks for the info Glitterati. I'm familiar with the morph brush, but it would take me far more than 5 minutes to get those results. If I have to go down that path, I may need some professional help.

Granted, I use the morph brush almost every day, on every product I create, but it really is an invaluable tool. The 2 keys to using it well, are:

  1. Turn off SubD. You can turn it back on when you are ready to save the item back to your library.

and

  1. Turn down the magnitude from the default. It's simply set way too high as a default and will just destroy the underlying mesh rather than repair it.

The more you use the morph brush, the more proficient you will get with it. And, for those who use a graphics tablet, the morph brush works with your tablet too.

Also, remember.......once you make these changes and edit your morph in place, you never have to do it again. It's permanent as long as you save the item back to your library when you finish.

If you still have the Wardrobe Wizard this tutorial might be of good help but is actually used as shortcut it can also be done without it. I have not tested it with La Femme but it should actually work for most situations. " Might have to update the Tutorial to the newer versions one day "

There is no module for La Femme in Wardrobe Wizard so it would be pointless to attempt it. Besides, support for it has been dropped by Bondware and no longer exists in Poser 11.

WW wasn't "dropped" by Bondware. PhilC chose to pull it.

Well the tutorial if you read it is not the section of the WW to fit from one to another Figure it is the section to Merge Morphs of a Figure this makes it omni compatible for any Figure used , there are many features in the WW besides fitting from one Model to another. The feature used is Dials to single Morph , there are also other ways to do it if you do not have the WW , you simply would have to export the Morphed Figure as OBJ then load the OBJ as Custom morph into the figure , actually the alternative for the WW in this case, or lets say the common one that was Primary used to create a single custom morph out of many. third alternative would again be doing it using the ... Ohh well this would end up as Book LOL ... But just in case that the OP still has the WW as you could keep it if you still have PP11.1 or someone just sends a copy of it

Would it be to fit from one to another model there are better ways then to use WW , CrossDresser or CC it also would be another tutorial :)
