This is what I have right now. The tail needs some bowties, I guess. The ropework needs more polys before I can rig it (or Clark can show us how to use it with Bulllet). Most probably, the tail will need to be rigged too, the tail won't look good if it's always bent the same way.
In Bullet Physics, certain props need to be separate and not parented. This is so you can assigned them to one of three groups , choregraphed, rigid, and softbody. You would need the string to be a separate prop so you can choreograph it. Anything in the choreograph group will maintain it's shape, but can still be animated. You can constrain the string to the kite and (1) either use wind Force to blow the kite up high, or 2) place the kite where you want it and constrain it there.
