The best way to avoid this type of thing is to get a actual domain and host it with a reputable company. I know that there are fees with this, trust me I know all too well, but it's still worth it, because you have total control over it at that point. Yes, you still have to find a host that is trust worthy. I know a few if you need ideas. :) Anyway, I did a couple whois runs and found a few addresses that would work for you that are NOT taken yet. :) So there is hope out there for total freedom for you. :) Also.. if you do register.. give TUCOWS a shot, they're cheaper than Network Solutions, but then again, they offer less in the way of services.
