I never cared for the look of Starfleet interiors; they seem to be designed to look like the world's blandest lounge, or outright dangerous, with numerous hard surfaces, silly ramps and railings, daft seating arrangements and so on.

I know they're supposed to have inertial dampers, and if they fail, the crew would be a thin smear on the front walls but even so, they should take a tip from other starship designers and get some more padding and lose the ramps.
