On camera angles, I assume you could screen-grab from the movie/series Das Boot (not Daz Boot!), and get a lot of ideas of how to frame things with the camera. I seem to recall there was a recent TV series sequel, which may also give ideas. I think there's also some flying-boat repairs and lifeboat pose sets, which could probably also double up for submarine on the surface scenes.
