I usually keep about 2 or 3 versions of Blender on my system, just in case I come across something where I need an older addon or scene files where backward compatibility is an issue. It usually takes developers a while to update their addons for the latest versions of Blender, and some which I've found on GITHub may not get updated at all. It's rare, but it does happen that a very useful addon gets abandoned.

Once I have all my addons updated, I usually feel confident to remove the older versions to save space.
