Miss B, why still using 2.79? Blender has changed so much since then you'll basically need to relearn a bunch of stuff if you decide to update. Latest versions are even way different than the original 2.8 release.
Because I've been using Blender since version 2.4x, and getting used to a new GUI with 2.52 was more than enough, though back then it was absolutely needed.
I know they've redone the GUI starting with 2.8.x, and now 2.9.x, so that n00bs who were having issues with the 2.79 GUI could use Blender with an easier GUI to work with. I'm very used to/comfortable with version 2.79. One of these days I'll install the newest version and play with it . . . just not yet.
