Eh, it's not like hijacking threads is unusual here. And I don't think it's really hijacking. I'm explaining what the OP is complaining about. Poser 11 does render things differently, even in Firefly. This is why her characters are rendering gray.

It's not just the standard DAZ textures. A lot of older texture packs have this problem. EZSkin is an easy fix, at least in Poser 11. (It doesn't run in Poser 12 yet. Another reason to keep Poser 11 around, even if you've upgraded.)
