Apparently ShaderSpider would not run past Poser 7, and may also have had trouble with Windows 7. It appears to have copied materials and "makes the MATs via a Python script", seemingly enabling Poser figures to be used in DAZ, back in the day? It also made partial or 'wedge' shaders, and library files for these. There was a free LE version which enabled everyone to load the partial shaders made with it.
So far as I know the PoseWorks scripts are public domain now, and you can do what you like with their code. I've not heard of any plan to revive ShaderSpider.
