I still have the scars from when a then-well-respected and, IMHO, very versatile home-design program needed to re-compile its core code for bigger memory handling. Their off-shore Devs refused to 'play nice', the title was switched to a new 'engine' with a very different 'look & feel', which was not back-compatible with prior plan-files... Yeah, that was my Medieval-ish mega-project trashed...
