I start my day confused and it just gets worse LOL Transparency maps work on reflected light.. The more reflection the more you see. So if set to 100% for Transparency (black) there is no reflected light hence nothing there. As you take that 100% down in value you up the reflected light which is how you can set the degrees of transparency..
