Yes, it's done by File - Import - Wavefront OBJ. There are various things to consider for an OBJ to import to Poser.

For instance, there is usually an accompanying MTL file that tells the OBJ where its materials are. If this is present and you open it with a plain text editor - such as Notepad (Windows) or TextMate (Mac) - you'll get an idea about what this does and where it it trying to find the materials.

Another key consideration is the scaling. This is usually a matter of trial and error. If the OBJ is too small or to big, just try again with a different scaling - the default is 100.00 for a Poser import and it's easy to set. You are prompted to input a scaling level each time the OBJ imports.

Finally, there's the UV - which basically refers to how the object's material gets mapped into the 3D mesh. This is a whole art in itself, and if the UV mapping is messed up, newbies will likely not be able to fix it on their own. This is especially the case where there are 'transmaps' present.
