May I suggest you to check these parameters?

If I load an old scene with those parameters not as is, in particular the two zones in the green rectangles, Poser is slower indeed.

Now, for the crashes part: because of the Python involved, if I click on something at a moment when Poser hasn't finished with its current task, indeed it crashes
