Yes, installing through Daz Studio (Connect) will place the files there. I thought you wanted to use Daz Central or Install Manager, which use a single folder for everything. Either method works, for most things, but there is no point in doing both as then the Install Manager/Daz Central files are just ignored.

I do want to use DC or DIM - don't remember having the products go into My DAZ Connect Library before but it's been awhile since I loaded a product from within DAZ itself. Curious why all the metadata JPEG and JSON files are now in My DAZ Connect Library...don't even have a My Daz Connect Library file on my other machine in FL...thanks as always
If you allow Daz Studio to connect to your Daz Account then it will download metadata for everything you own at the time, it uses that so the Install pane can shjow stuff that isn't yet installed (and so that ot knows which products you own and can ask if you want to install missing ones when loading a scene). That is separate from the metadata files installed with content (which go int /Runtime/Support/). If you want to use Install manager then uninstall the connect items (by right-click in the Products list) and don't ket Daz Studio go online (uncheck the always log in box in the Connect dialogue - if you are initially logged in you will first need to use Connect>Work offline.

If, having done that, the content you install using one of the external applications is not showing then we need to figure out what is going wrong. Do the files appear in the Daz Studio Formats tree in the Content Library pane? If not then there is a problem with the paths: If they do then theer is a problem with the Content Management System, between it adn daz Studio or between the isntaller and the CMS (or both).

OK, when I uninstall products loaded from within DAZ (connect) and reinstall when offline, things load fine when I 'follow through' using the clicks provided in Central. These assets also load into scenes without having to 'merge'. This is the way things have been since the beginning, as I have always run offline unless something required otherwise...

What I think happened was upon reinstalling DAZ, it defaulted into running online and since I didn't see the menu offering to work online or off, I went ahead and loaded what I needed to work. I'll Uninstall the products loaded through Connect and reinstall through Central. Fortunately there aren't that many...I'm assuming that once complete, the files should run through Runtime Support, and the 'My DAZ Connect Library' file can be eliminated.

My entire My Library works fine.

I've always managed in DAZ without understanding how it loads assets within its own framework (Connect) because I never used it, and manually loaded third party content into 'My Library' with very few problems. The concept behind loading the entire metadata to facilitate the Install pane makes perfect sense. I use Smart content from time to time, but make more use of typing in a search for desired content. Central does a fair job with that also...

Understanding how Connect works (and to avoid it) is a lesson most learn sooner, but it's never too late...

Thanks once again...
