Subject: Fitting Room is a mess

Zatanna ( ) posted Sat, 06 August 2022 at 8:28 AM · edited Mon, 21 October 2024 at 9:54 AM

I recently tried to use the Fitting Room, but the display panel is a long, narrow strip at the top of the page. There is NOTHING else. I tried to load the other controls, but they're all over the place and never looks like the picture in the "Room Help" or in the forums.

Every problem in the forums seem to be with working Fitting Rooms, but how can I get mine to just get started?

Can you screencap your display?  It sounds like the panel is attempting to fit in a confined space on the upper half of UI.

You can undock most panels and then move to fit better, it is probably what hborre says. In general, screencaps almost always help.

I tried moving them around, but they always want to jump into the same place I'm moving them out of. This is what it looks like loading from the pose screen. Opening the room first only gets the work area.gIAd4i2j4elxgBo3pNyXaWDqA8WsdX0HZrxMkNh6.jpg

My best suggestion is to go into General Preferences and on the Document tab, set launch behavior to 'Launch to factory scene' and proceed to the Interface tab and set launch behavior' also to 'Launch to factory state'.   Close the panel and reboot Poser.  Afterward, reset the General Preferences back to your previously selected state.  Unfortunately, If you customized the UI, you will need to manually restore the panels where you want them.  Use the UI Dots in each room to preserve your setup, and prevent any accidental panel movements by unchecking 'Drag-Docking Enabled'.  I spread my workspace over 2 monitors so I use the Docked/Floating features exclusively to rearrange my panels.

Thank you. If it doesn't work, well, I've done without it so far.

Resetting to factory state will definitely work.  I performed it earlier on my system to verify; not a big deal, I have some panels undocked and others closed.

And once everything is correctly setup: alt-click to clear a position, click an empty one to store, click a used one to restore the UI.

Very handy as from time to time, Poser moves weirdly a window toolbox 😄
