Some other people have experimented this power-kernel 41 error. One of them resolved the issue by unplugin and replugin the gpu (he did the same with the RAM but not sure it will help in this case). He also disconnected and reconnected the PSU from the cpu and the gpu (MB and video card alim. connectors).
Depending on your environment (mix of dust and humidity for example) can introduce problems with the connectors.

He did this after being sure that nvidia's driver had been "clean installed".

if that really is the case with dirty/oxidized connectors then you might want to use some Deoxit on the connectors and do multiple plugins and outs to really clean them.
