If you are able to install an executable file into a separate temporary folder and rewrap it as a zip file then you can delete it from your system forever.  I am assuming that you are referring to the older DAZ content container files they used for distribution.  If you still have an account with them, download a fresh install file from them, it will be repackaged as a zip file.  The only drawback to reinstalling the much older content is thumbnail incompatibility, which is not corrected, and the dozens of hacks that are included in the material room based on the older technology.  If you are knowledgeable about using the Material Room then this will definitely keep you busy.
