I think it's an excellent idea - at the very least, the links you place in the forum might bring you a few more views, and more views increases the chances of finding another of those niche readers.

Truthfully for me it's more about having it in a folder where it can be read in order without any other images interrupting the flow.

Though I'm keen to see if it will actually work
