I will never upgrade from Poser 11 because  use the disappeared DSON python plug-in every day. BUT I use Genesis 3 and 8 content in Poser all the time by exporting clothing, shoes, and hair from DS as obj’s that I import to Poser and fit and rig to native Poser figures. Similar to this method, can G8 figures be extracted as OBJ and used as characters?

In principle, yes. You'd probably have to use Genesis 2 as the donor and rig it twice, the first time with G2F unzeroed to the obj, and then again with the result unzeroed to a zeroed G2F. But the rigging of the hands and eyes would be REALLY hard to get right, so I've never bothered to try. I have freebie body shapes that get La Femme pretty darned close to the just retired Genesis figure (Jenny 8 for La Femme) and Pauline to her predecessor. La Femme has face chips of her own. I see no real advantage to using a kludge that doesn't work all that well natively in Poser.
