Y-Phil posted at 2:43 AM Tue, 21 March 2023 - #4459158It does not depend on plugged/unplugged state of the computer itself, it's just a matter of Win10+ booting differently, depending on the choice of either rebooting immediately (<== real refresh of the resources of Windows) or shut down it (to spare electricity, but the resources of Windows aren't refreshed this way). So, are things truly refreshed when I power down my machine AND unplug the hardware from the wall socket? Because that's what i do when things seem to get really squirrely...or if threatening weather is approaching. (In the latter case, yes, I will also disconnect the computer from the ISP hardware so that is fully separated from any possible electrical input.0 Of does the machine continue to "purr" while in the deepest of "comas" using the onboard battery? If so...DANG!!!
So that a good mix of both is the best solution: each 3 to 6 days reboot your Windows, for example while getting a coffee/tee/whatever, and later: shut it down daily.
