I don't like the denoiser turned all the way up, which was the only setting in 12, but being able to do a little bit and still leave some grain (e.g. set it to 0.5) is a nice balance between cleaning up the image and not going to plastic. Very nice improvement having that.by dots, do you mean the graininess? You can fix that 2 ways. 1 you can increase your pixel samples and/or turn off adaptive sampling. (or decrease the number listed in it) These will increase rendering time. Or you can use the denoiser in the post fx. With this, you might lose some detail on finely textured items, like sand or maybe cloth.
