I doubt the number of drives is an issue, for the past few years I have been running with a total of 19 drives connected, 17 if you do not include the DVD writer and DVD/M disk reader/writer. Seven of those drives are external 500gig SSDs with the C drive being the same but internal as it is plugged into the Motherboard. The rest are 1TB conventional hard drives used for storage and seven of those are also external. In addition I have two NAS units networked in. With all that the only time my system gets slow is if windows it trying to generate image thumbnails when it appears to go walkabout for no appear reason. Occasionally the a drive seems to drop off the system for no apparent reason but cycling the power on the missing drive rectifies the problem.nerd posted at 11:52 AM Fri, 28 April 2023 - #4463660
Might be just because I have so many drives attached. (Six, along with the two internal.) There might be some interference issues. Still, I don't have any problems with other software. Poser is the only one that gives me that error message. And it's barely a blip with Poser 11. Just ignore the message, and it works fine.Access denied is an operating system error. Poser's just repeating what Windows said.
Not sure about Poser 12. I haven't used it much.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
