Thank you both for your replies, the reason for the question is due to the fact that I need to take into account more than Poser. The machine I use at the moment is still fairly good at renders even thought the GPU is a 1080ti and the CPU can cope when Poser throws the odd Cuda error. It was an expensive machine just five years ago but the big problem is that I cannot upgrade to Poser 11 as it is not supported by the Motherboard. The difficulty is that the machine is also used for online banking and, as the other computers I have are all Windows 7, this is the only computer I can use as all the banking webs sites have long since ceased supporting Windows 7. I dislike having a single point of failure for on line banking which is what I have with my present machine.
With the present cost of living crisis, that is forecast to get worse in the coming months I cannot really justify the massive outlay on a new computer with a spec to do Poser rendering justice. At present Amazon has the Mini PC in question priced at £645 down from £699 but there is also a £96 voucher dropping the price to £549 and it comes with Windows 11 Pro already installed. Buying Windows Pro as a standalone would cost me in the region of £190 with even the home version costing around £125 which makes the mini PU a viable option, at least in financial terms. So the plan is to use the mini PC for day to day stuff, along with online banking, and only use Poser 13 installed on it to create scenes and allow my existing PC to continue to deal with renders until such time as I can scrape up enough to buy a suitable replacement, assuming it lasts that long.
Thanks again for your replies it does seem it is something I ought to give a try.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
