I have added a HMDI based KVM switch to the equation so that I can share a moose, keyboard and monitor across both systems. It is a simple unit measuring 10 X 6 X 3cm with a button on top, pressing the button flips all three items between the PCs and button surround is illuminated blue or green to signify which PC is being controlled.
Sadly my render machine decided that this was a good time to refuse to load Windows. None of my backups worked so I had little option but to do a clean install of Windows 10 and activate it. Despite that, the pair of machines are now working well and I am able to create a scene on the mini PC, send it to the queue and have it rendered by the old render machine.
All I need to do now is clean up the lighting and then have a good play.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
