I agree, manual installation is the better option when installing third-party content into DAZ Studio.  On the other hand. the suggested method you followed may have installed your content in another location that is not mapped out to the software.

Have you conducted an HD search for the files?

If you mean,  have I searched for the content?  Yes,  DAZ can't find it.
