I don't know if it will help since you said a reinstall didn't help, but there is a newer version of Poser available.

Something else. When you reinstalled, did you write over the old one, or did you uninstall first? I vaguely remember someone having a problem that reinstalling didn't fix. There was a recommendation of using Geek uninstaller to remove every trace of the program and then reinstalling it, which worked. I don't know if that will help or not.
