another trick is to hide everything but the figure and clothing you're working on. But you do need to keep an eye on your memory. The more you have in your scene, the more memory you use.
Also, check the properties pallet and look at the Preview subdivision level. Set that to 0 for all your figures. And the clothing. Lafemme 2 has a default of 0. L'homme is 1 and so does Lafemme 1. The clothes may vary. Don't change the render subdivision level. This will lighten the load for you setting up the scene
