nerd: I find that in copying relative parts of the Tool, I only clicked on waist and the results indicate I should have clicked on hips and thighs and maybe glutes. is there a way to click on all important parts to transfer those to clothes item, or do I have to go back and repeat the process for each?

You click on ALL the parts the clothing would cover at once. So for a short, you need waist (maybe abdomen to be sure), hip, left and right thigh, if glutes are separate on the figure you're using, those as well (not having Poser at hand atm so don't remember if LF2 has those separate). You do this once for each ITEM you are converting.
