Subject: Problems with importing .OBJ

That's definitely a case of unwelded polygons - seems like every poligon there has its individual vertices, just located in the same place. That is why Poser can't smooth the vertices, as it's not detecting where to smooth (because those vertices are all separated) and why it makes all those individual circles  when subdividing - it's subdividing each polygon separately.


To fix it in Blender, import the obj, then take it to Edit Mode, select all vertices and go to Mesh > Cleanup > Merge by Distance. The default distance here usually works well. 


Then export that and import it in Poser.
