Unfortunately, that is the price of advancing the technology. Be aware, the current Poser version is trying to give you the best of both worlds. The developers could have taken a different approach and totally revamped Poser to the extent that older content would no longer be usable within the program. Currently, you can still use old content, but if you want to take your renders to the next level, you need to invest some quality time learning the software properly.
