Subject: Michael sword-fighting poses

I admit it I know little or nothing about the art of sword-fighting despite having been in SCA for over a decade. Does anyone know where I can find (I will happilty purchase them if necessary) sword-fighting poses for Mike? Preferably NOT Olympic fencing style poses but rather Fantasy/medieval ones. And even better yet interactive poses between two Michael figures. I would be ever so grateful! Daio, who know horses not swords.

Hmm... I haven't seen any for Michael, but Schlabber did have some for the P4Fem vs. P4Male... you could probaly adapt them... but they were more of a "comic book" style, than a fantasy style... but they could probably still work...

I puchased Eric's Combat poses for Massive Mike a while back. They are very dynamic and some of them are for swords. Take a look...

I have those but they would need a lot of tweeking - I've tried them and I can't get them to look decent using Mike.

The comment up above is about Schlabber'd P4 Man and woman poses. I'll go look at Eric's/ Thanks Thorgrim!

This is a topic that I do have some experience in (I've been involved in various martial arts for over 10 years). This is actually on my list of projects (which always seems to grow). This list also includes hand to hand combat poses (they are actually higher on the list). Is this something that there is general interest in and, if so, is there more desire for hand to hand or weapon poses? Also, what is the feeling on poser dork/dorkette vs. millenium folks? , fgeorge

I would prefer weapon poses, for fantasy/midevil style weapons. Also poses that do not affect the face. As far as P4 characters vs Millenium, I like Mike and Vicky much better, but I've only used Mike in conjuction with Massive Mike.

I think P4 vs Millfolk poses would be good. There's lots of armor that fits the P4 people around and it gives you a lot more options for creating scenes. The higher res of M/V doesn't always make sense anyway. Once I've covered them in armor and as long as I don't render close up it doesn't really matter. Poser tends to lock up more when you have multiple Mikes/Vickis in a scene, but I can plop an army of P4's in there and it seems to do fine (stupid program).

Are you in a hurry for these? Send me an email at s_barnes@swbell.net, and I can work you up a small set and then I'll add a complete set to my "projects list". Let me know what you'd like in the small set in the email... just a quickie description. I haven't been involved with the SCA for a long while now... but I have a bit of sword experience. What shire/kindom were you with? We were with Ansteorra (sp?) here in North Texas.
