I typed several responses and got kicked out on the renderosity timeout much to my frustration. Here goes another. Your slope must be pyramidal, sloping in to the top, not sloping inward towards the bottom (bryce doesn't work that way). You can sharpen the image in the DTE. You can use the clipping bracket (but this is unlikely to help) You can go back to your paint program and save in a large format before bringing it into bryce. Bryce recognizes 65540 shades of gray while most paint programs are only good for 256 colors and that means inconsistencies in importing = slopes. If you use a resolution of 800x800 or so in your paint program, scrutanize carefully the edges. Make sure there is no gradient. Gradient = slope. Use your brush tools to make the edges sharp. No brushes that have a falloff, only brushes that are solid all the way around. Hope this helps.

I'm using Posterize and a lattice to create buildings. However, the sides of the buildings always slope. Is there a way to make them completely perpendicluar? Thanks!
