Fiddling about with 3D worlds is fun, stimulates the imagination and feeds the need to add my own input. As a hobbist... Ive been developping software for the last 18 years or so and no user ever wanted a 3D world to perform his/her task. Why? Simple, great looking screens dont add to their accuracy and speed, on the contrary, it usually slows them down. Companies are not willing to invest in that. Theres also a big gap between the die-hard PC users and the average PC home user. 60 to 70% looks at the internet as a book. They hardly know what IE or Netscape is. Imagine those programs crashing (huh, why imagine? ;-) ). 3D environments are fun for a while, like a new game. After a while they get bored and toss it. So, Atmosphere features, sure, but only for fun. (And dont think of charging money for the gadget!!) Maxx
