This forum is here to discuss modeling techniques and modeling in general. It is not here to ask people to model for you. If you want a model; do it yourself. Go get a modeler (plenty of decent free one) and learn to model. If you run into problems, you can post here for help.

Yeah, I know, but I felt like taking pity upon the one who was blind to the word of the mesh maker. We're all here to have fun, and if I feel like doing a project on the side just to be nice...so be it.

speaking of which I think I may have to give up on Horton and do him when I have a little more skill in organics, getting an elephants trunk to blend to his face and make it seem like its all one piece is tough. I think I may do the cat in the hat next, he doesn't look too hard. Not that I gave up on Horton willingly, I re-modeled him 5 times trying to get it right. Perhaps later I'll come back to him and get it the 6th time around.

When i start modelling, then ill start posting modelling questions you meanie

cloudedInMystery ( ) posted Sun, 11 November 2001 at 5:40 PM

Well, that's what this forum was created for. If you want ppl. to make models for you (since you don't have the skill), go ask in the proper forum or hire someone to do it.

which is the proper forum for modeling requests?

Tephladon ( ) posted Mon, 12 November 2001 at 5:03 PM

I think any forum is. While clouded has stated his position, I am quite sure that it is not the position of everyone here and I don't see his handle up there where in the moderators heading.

Spike ( ) posted Mon, 12 November 2001 at 5:09 PM

:) I feel that this is the place to ask for models to be made. Afterall, he was asking for a "Model", and this is the "Modeling Forum". Maybe it's just a misunderstanding of what this fourm is for. :)

Well, I believe that was the intention of this forum when it was created. Since there isn't a moderator here, I suppose anything goes.

Tephladon ( ) posted Mon, 12 November 2001 at 5:53 PM

It's okay with me clouded. I you won't get any argument from me on the topic. You can tell them what you think 'til the sky falls. I don't think it is anything goes though. I think that this is strictly for modellers and if someone has a request, this seems to be a logical place to come. I like this though. It is not app specific, I caters to what was clearly grey area here at Rosity. Someone was obviously watching the direction that things were going in. That's cool. Good job Admin. It is like I said in the Lightwave forum. The people behind the scenes seem to genuinely care about what the members here want.

The 4th Party ( ) posted Mon, 12 November 2001 at 6:01 PM

I'd tend to agree with Spike on this, short of posting a request in EVERY modeling software program forum, there really is no place to make modeling requests here, most of the requests I've seen in this forum, state they are such in the subject title, they can easly be ignored by someone not intrested just my opinion :)

UH OH i smell trouble brewing lol! :) Im thankful that this forum came to be! luckily it has come close to what me and teyon origionaly wanted it to be, as far as keeping it a non app specific modeling forum and staying on the topic of modeling. It has stayed that way due to almost all the users helping to define the "rules" without a moderator and i know alot of users worry about cross forum or redundant posting ex request for models in character creators forum and the modeling forum we were told if this happens the forum will go away so i think CIM was just being overprotective !:) personally i dont see a problem with requesting models to be made here i agree with spike most people wont know where to ask and as long as you post a template or have relvent questions then i think this could be adressed in this forum as an example instead of a post saying "can somone model a monster for me" , they should post a front and side sketch of the moster for somone to model, that way they are contributing to the forum afterwards maybe the person that modeled it can show how they did it or post pics as they work on it ! i hope i dont sound as if im trying to say how it should or shouldnt be im just offering a peacful soulution as there is no moderator peace Trav
