With that method you can only export terrain mesh's that you make and nothing else. There is another way you can do it. Go to your Edit mesh dialog, it will be listed as an E next to the object. Once there hit CTRL+D you can export in several different formats. I think it will only work with objects that you have imported into Bryce.
