Personally, I don't think those are stupid questions at all :) I've been attempting the creation of my own textures as well, and having a devil of a time doing it. Finally got something that looked like a texture map via UVMAPPER, but it doesn't seem to want to work right - I replace the obj file with the one I export from UVMAPPER, and I don't see anything when I try to apply a texture made with the new template. I've read just about all the tutorials out there, and all seem to have one fatal flaw: they assume the reader knows how to do everything already! The ones that aren't too advanced are too basic. Once I figure out some of the more intermediate steps, I think I'll write a tutorial for some of the stuff I'm trying to learn now.
