Mikey's got new headgear! Mikey's Beanie comes in 4 colors. It should hit Freestuff soon.

Pokeydots; I think DAZ has one included in a clothing pack, I'll check into it.

Here's a Pic of the White Beanie.

OH cool!...that is a great addition!

Okay, not to appear anal about this or anything, but this isnt a beanie. This is a touque. A beanie would have a propeller (okay, maybe not, he says with a grin, but has anyone ever seen a beanie worth its salt without one?), but its a half sphere like a baseball cap minus the brim. This, on the other hand, is a touque, a proud part of the Canadian tradition of ignoring winters worst. =) But I still like it anyway. =)

beanie Pronunciation: (bE'nE), n. a skullcap, often brightly colored, worn esp. by children and by college freshmen, esp. in the 1940s. Where I come from they call it a Tam, something used for storing those unruly dreadlocks ;]

Here's the Grey one...

VirtualSite ( ) posted Wed, 28 November 2001 at 11:09 AM

Well, I stand corrected. Maybe its a combination of age and culture, but I always considered a touque to be a garment as shown above and a beanie a smaller, brimless hat usually made from a harder material than wool. Then I go on Yahoo and discover that (horrors!) these are beanies. The world can be so cruel sometimes................. =)

Honestly, I feel your pain ;)

This is a stocking cap (called that because it's knitted like a stocking). A beanie (and I know this, because I've had both kinds of hats) is generally made of felt, does not stretch and is, like someone else mentioned, more like a baseball cap without the brim. Jughead wore a beanie.

Online Now!

I believe that the youngsters of society have appropriated the name "beanie" and have given it to the hat shown in this thread. I, also, think of a beanie as described by virtualSite and Kate. Does anyone else remember Beanie and Cecil?

Alright, I did search on Google for 'beanie' and variations of these three items came up. It's quite clear t'me they're all BEANIES

velvetdream2 ( ) posted Wed, 28 November 2001 at 12:09 PM

I thought those hats were called "toques" in Canada. I have no idea if I spelled that right or not. lol
