The Victoria and Michael items are made by Daz3d, a separate company than Curious Labs. You might have a hairstyle made for Victoria but tried to put it on Posette - the default female figure that comes with Poser. (It's the official nickname of the figure. You'll see the reference a lot around here.) This is a common mistake. It's really easy to tweak hair to fit other models. You'll also find that some hair styles made for Posette or Victoria work well with Dork (the P4 male - he's got a self-esteem problem) or Michael with tweaking in scale and positioning. Don't forget to post some pictures once you get comfortable with the program!
